We also take the time to celebrate our patriotism to remember all of those who gave their lives in service, and share the day with friends and family right in our own back yard!
So in the sake of tradition, we would like to share one of our favorite Memorial Day recipes for grilling!
This year we are doing salmon on the grill. You can do salmon steaks or a full fillet. We would love to hear about your Memorial Day traditions as well!
Salmon on the grill.
Note – if you do salmon steaks be sure to watch them carefully because they tend to cook more quickly.
Salmon fillet – whole – rinse and place the skin side down on foil paper.
Pour about 1/2 a cup of white wine
rub the top with crushed garlic
top with fresh dill to cover.
Place the foil on the grill on medium with the salmon loosely wrapped – we don’t want to poach it just let it absorb some of the wine.
Keep an eye on it a good size salmon will cook in 10-12 minutes. The best way to tell is to compress the thickest area with a fork and it should not bounce back. The juices should be white as it cooks through.
Be careful not to overcook or it will become dry.
Service with an amazing side of grilled asparagus and a beautiful tossed salad.
Simple and easy!
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!
